Amsterdamse die als jazzsinger wordt geafficheerd, maar veel meer is. Met haar schitterende, intiem sensuele stem kan ze alle kanten op. Een krant schreef: ‘Als ze blues zingt, klinkt ze alsof ze zo van het katoenveld is afgeplukt, bij een gospelachtig nummer ga je halleluja roepen.’ Hier geen gospel, maar halleluja is wel op zijn plaats. Ze swingt, ze bluest en er zijn soulinvloeden. Bijzonder – voor jazz – is dat ze zelf de nummers schrijft. Ze is daardoor ook singersongwriter. ‘Take a little time out’, ‘Dance until it’s over’ e.a. doen aan een jazzy Joni Mitchell denken. En in INC. spelen geweldige muzikanten.
